BYTE 2017 - http://www.byteconference.ca/

A special thank you to the participants of the two sessions. You were the first educators that I worked with outside of my school colleagues since I became a Google for Education Certified Trainer. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any follow-up questions. There are a number of resources below to help support your learning.

TITLE: What is New with G-Suite for Education (formerly Google Apps for Education) (Double - 2 hours)

PRESENTER: Phil Taylor, St. John's-Ravenscourt School

This hands-on BYOD session will explore some of the new features found in G Suite for Education. Participants will be able to experience Google Classroom from a student's perspective, pick up some practical how-to tips of using Classroom to develop a near paperless classroom, create a website with the New Google Sites, and create formative assessment documents.

BYOD: Laptops recommended (necessary for the website creation component), but you can also try the session with a tablet or mobile (be sure to have pre-downloaded Google Docs, Google Forms, Sheets, and Google Classroom if you are using a mobile device). You will be given temporary G Suite Edu accounts for this session.

The use of Google Chrome browser is highly recommended as this browser provides a few more tools that are not available in Firefox, Edge, or Safari.

PREREQUISITES: Familiar with web based tools

AUDIENCE: K-12

FOCUS AREA: This session will be most beneficial for teachers who are in a 1-to-1 environment, or will be in the near future.
